If you were not happy living in the land of the free, a land of milk and honey as our country the USA was at one time, just wait until you have to live under some other form of government with conditions like ISIS. As this verse says if you can't keep up with footmen, how will you contend with horsemen, you will be swallowed up by the rushing waters.

Jeremiah 12:

5 If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and if in the land of peace, wherein thou trustedst, they wearied thee, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan?

Some "Christians" tend to cherry pick certain verses from the bible that support their own personal agenda, while ignoring the rest.

It's either God's law, or it's not.

Doesn't the bible say, "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone?" Worry about your life & leave everyone else alone to worry about theirs. If your job interferes with your religion to the point that you are refusing to do a task that is expected of you or assigned to you (and that you are being paid to do), then you should probably honor you God & find a job that doesn't cause you so much distress.

Or you could just complete the task, & commit the 'sin' (as you see it), and just pray for forgiveness later. Clean slate, just like that....

TO THE REGISTRARS WHO ISSUE THE LICENSES AND THE MAGISTRATES WHO PERFORM THE CEREMONIES, IF IT IS AGAINST YOUR DEEPLY HELD RELIGIOUS BELIEFS AND YOU TOOK AN OATH TO UPHOLD THE FEDERAL AND STATE CONSTITUTIONS.

I SUGGEST YOU READ MATTHEW 6:24.

Exactly, the Conservatives would look at a Sunday exemption as people just trying to get out of work. Can you imagine the interview process if a nurse said "I can't work a Sunday shift because it goes against my deeply held religious beliefs"

But a Magistrate can use that arguement to discriminately get out of performing the duties of his job.

Yes these same people saying they shouldn't be forced to do their job, sure don't mind going to Captain's Galley after Sunday Service and saying well that waiter could get a different job if they didn't want to work on Sundays.

I'm sure that there are many magistrates that don't oppose same sex marriage. I can't imagine why you would want someone that opposes same sex marriage to perform your marriage.

And that is a safe assumption. But that isn't the entire issue. Contrary to how one side is trying to frame the issue, no one is being forced to do something that opposes their religion, They have the right to leave their job because they feel they can not uphold the constitution.

The issue, as I mentioned, is should a private person be forced to submit to the religious beliefs of a government official?

Lets assume for the moment that there are other religions besides Christianity.

Lets say, that the adherers of this religion are elected or appointed in positions of authority. One of the beliefs is that murder is justified of the victim insulted the perpetrators god. This judge refuses to punish those people equally as other people or judges. So Judge A (A secular judge) sentences a murderer to an equal sentence no matter what the motive was. Judge B(the weird religious judge) sentences a religious motivated murderer to less time than what judge A would have.

The above scenario is an example of two groups not sharing equal rights, which is what the federal constitution is trying to enforce.

The following is a list of things the Bible considers an abomination:

http://richardwaynegarganta...nation.htm
Eating flesh of peace offerings on the 3rd day (Lev. 7:18)
Offering an imperfect animal to God as a sacrifice (Dt. 17:1)
Lending with interest to a brother (Ezek. 18: 6-13)
Lying with a menstruous woman (Ezek. 18: 6-13)

Here is my favorite - -

Injustice (Ezek. 18: 6-13)

Why wouldn't every Christian claim its against their religion to work on Sunday? I would like to see how that goes over at businesses like Wal-Mart, McDonalds and Hospitals.

Leviticus 20:13

King James Bible
If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

No one should need a magistrate's permission, or a license to marry .

Because maybe they didn't want to get married in a church and wanted religion left out of their marriage.

Because maybe that should be a non-issue and never brought up by a public servant because their religious beliefs should be kept out of the state business.

Because maybe it is cheap and easy and they want to spend their wedding money on an awesome vacation.

I'm searching for a religion that I can use to get out of work and still get paid.

Christianity, then get appointed as a Magistrate. LOL
