A delegates view: After spending nearly a week in Cleveland at the RNC I have a different perspective than many.
When we arrived it was obvious there were a lot of people with different ideas. On Sunday we went to an event filled with people opposed to the rules passed the previous week by the rules committee who allow people who are not in the GOP to cast votes in the primary (as opposed to a closed primary).
We couldn't figure out why they allow people who aren't in the GOP, work for the GOP or give to the GOP to vote in the GOP primary and influence who the GOP nominates as their candidate. We thought the well would be tainted, if people who don't stand with the GOP or its platform, were instrumental in the selection process. We thought that if they were allowed to cast votes, then the GOP delegates should be unbound, so that only the GOP members would be involved in selecting who the nominee would be. If they are bound by their states then those outside the party are voicing their vote even though they aren't in the GOP.
Our best calculations were that Mr Trump had about 850 staunch supporters, about 650 opposed him, and about 900 were undecided.
The first night of the convention (Monday) when the rules were being adopted, there was tremendous opposition to this rule. The leadership had a voice vote on the floor of the convention. It is supposed to be that the chairman listens and makes a judgement as to which side had a majority. If it was to close to tell, then a role call vote is done to poll the delegates and get their response. The voice vote was very loud on both sides, with hundreds and hundreds of delegates chanting "Role call vote, Roll call vote". The will of the people was muzzled as the chairman slammed his gavel down and said the I's have it. This was clearly against the will of the delegates.
Another note on this, Mr Trump had a lot of surrogates (young men who were not delegates and not allowed to say anything during a voice vote) yelling at the top of their lungs in support of the rules.
Another note on this: Several states submitted signatures by a majority of their delegates to have a Roll call vote and Trump surrogates were going around trying to find these delegates, telling them they wanted them to remove their names from the petitions.
I guess I was expecting everyone to act in an honorable manor. If a Role call was done and those calling for it didn't have the votes, it wouldn't have passed.
The other thing I thought was so egregious was that the entire Booing of Senator Cruz was clearly orchestrated. Mr Trump had a copy of the speech in advance and the NY delegation along with his surrogates were the ones that did the booing. The speech was extremely well received, it dealt with the values we as Americans hold. It dealt with the rule of law, the Constitution, and what we as a people stand for. Senator Cruz congratulated Mr Trump on winning the nomination and that everyone should go out in November and vote. He told them to vote for their values, for the Constitution and their conscience. Mr Trump entered the back of the arena just as Senator Cruz said that. It was clearly staged.
To me it seems so sad that the GOP wants everyone to be YES men. What ever happened to us having healthy dialogue?
I can tell you two of our delegation, who were Cruz delegates, who flew on our State chairman Robin Hayes plane to Cleveland were asked by him what they thought of Senator Cruz speech. One said it was a fine speech. He was told to find another way home. How petty. I guess I am of the opinion that principle trumps party. I hope you like that play on words.
I am sure many will want to argue with me about my position. This post isn't made to discuss, it's just my humble observation. Please friends, get involved with our system. We need the people to be involved. I am convinced that neither party will save America, Only Jesus Christ will save America.
Blessings to you.

hangsleft (view profile) Posted 2:45 pm, 07/21/2016 Mark Cuban, former big supporter of Trump, has joined the Never Trump campaign.
He said he was a fan until he opened his big mouth and started talking.
He also said the only way trump has 10 billion is if he ( Cuban ) wrote him a check for 9.5 billion to pay him for washing his balls!!

First she would need to be found guilty of a crime, that's where they are falling short over and over and over and over and over and over again.
I had the analogy but it is like beating a dead horse to get it to run.

Makes me miss the empty chair. |
Do't worry there will be an empty SERVER there soon
