OK hangsleft, when any of these laws you mentioned are broken, does the inanimate object used get the blame?

"speeding laws, seat belt laws, texting laws, drinking and driving laws"

You certainly can't say any of these things haven't killed several people and all are extremely dangerous.
Then why do guns get the blame when someone dies as the result of the misuse of a firearm?

The Crypt Gunpowder tax will save hundreds of lives.

Guns don't kill, bullets do. So now what? Keep the guns and ban all bullets?

Picked the wrong link earlier, got to get those new glasses soon, sorry. I do however stand by my statement about liberal math though. Here is hopefully the correct one and a paragraph from it. Didn't osbo work there for a while?

Corruption[edit]

Chicago has a long history of political corruption,[10] and has been a de facto monolithic entity of the Democratic Party from the mid 20th century onward.[11][12] Research released by the University of Illinois at Chicago reports that Chicago and Cook County's judicial district recorded 45 public corruption convictions for 2013 and 1642 convictions since 1976 when the Department of Justice began compiling statistics. This prompted many media outlets to declare Chicago the "corruption capital of America".[13] D*** Simpson, a former Chicago alderman and current University of Illinois at Chicago political science professor, wrote the book "Corrupt Illinois: "patronage, cronyism and criminality" in Illinois which expands upon Chicago's corrupt political culture.[14][15]

If everybody obeyed existing traffic laws, we'd soon see new laws.

Actually, most laws are people laws regardless the device used.

When people break them a price must be paid.
Wish that could apply to the folks who misuse a gun.

I'm all in favor of making society safer so let's enforce the laws already on the books. Might have to lock up the hoodrats for awhile until they learn some common sense, but I've always heard, that which doesn't kill us, makes us stronger. Perhaps it will work for them too.

Ok, I understand now why the states were brought up. If you average in all the good people of Illinois who never cause a problem, the violence stats go way down so the REAL problem becomes less apparent. Typical liberal math to avoid dealing with the real issue.

I'm all for common sense people laws not gun laws, because a gun is an inanimate object incapable of doing anything alone. Most of you will never understand, it's just not the way the liberal mind works.

We have speeding laws, seat belt laws, texting laws, drinking and driving laws, the list goes on.

So you are opposed to making society safer?

Never work.

Democraps would never be satisfied even if the world were perfectly peaceful and everyone had everything they ever wanted. Democraps thrive on regulation. New regs are a sign of progress.

They say they want more gun laws, I heard it myself last night.

What about if we start enforcing the laws already on the books?

Have you ever been to Chicago?
I showed you the gun deaths per state because that's an important part of the conversation.

That's a distraction. Certain posters only want information that is going to support their nutball thoughts.

It's like the term Car crash, Cars crash because of people but we don't say "I was involved in a people crash". Good grief.

No, it isn't gun violence, it's people with no morals or common sense instilled in them, violence.

Guns are not violent.

Who started talking about states? All I mentioned was the rat infested city of Chicago, and as I said, it IS controlled by the dems. That was the whole reason for the link I posted. Why did shoulda inform me Illinois is blue?

You didn't know that guns were manufactured as a weapon? That's odd. You really don't know much about them.

Anyway, can we get back on track.

Gun Violence is a major concern in our country if you don't think so then your head is in the sand.

justpassinthru

Never heard that term before.

All of mine are objects specially manufactured to place bullets at a specific spot on the target, very closely together. I guess though if the need ever arises, they could be used to protect myself or my family.
Hope it never comes to that though.
