Obama admits, "No Strategy" to deal with terrorist.

Forever Cynic......Just like Obama you have no foreign affairs knowledge. The Pentagon and CIA has warned Obama about ISIS for well over a year now. Yes, Clinton was warned about Al-Queda during his presidency and did nothing. The CIA tried to take Bin Laden out at least 10 different times and Clinton would not allow it. Doing nothing led to the slaughter of thousands of Americans on American soil. If we continue to do nothing like Clinton did, they will attack us here. Not if, just when and where.

So we should go to war with Syria over the actions of a terrorist group? That would be like Africa bombing the US because of the KKK.

The simple fact here is that ISIS hasn't really done anything that's all that notable. They've kidnapped and killed two journalists in their backyard, sure, but "there is no evidence at this point that they are actually doing the sort of command-and-control plotting, planning specific attacks against Western targets, like al Qaeda was, gosh, for better -- for almost a decade before 9/11," [Rep. Adam Smith] said on "Face the Nation."

IMO, if Obama did exactly what Lazer said, the Republicans would then just say that he's making us look weak and scared.

I agree. Bomb the heck out of them.

You all send your sons and daughters over there, don't want mine to go. Bombing seems the best way to go.

I'm no Obama fan, but it could be possible he's claiming to have no strategy, when he really does. Doesn't look good to the American public, but it'd cause ISIS/ISIL to get a bit ****y and overconfident and they'll both cave in on themselves and be surprised when the U.S. comes in balls to the wall to destroy them.

But...that's just my logic. It doesn't always line up with reality, unfortunately. Just gotta sit back and see what happens.

Announce? How about doing something. ISIS isn't a group that just started overnight. A leader doesn't tell the world that they have no strategy!

Is he supposed to announce to isis what he's going to do ? I'm sure they'd like to hear it.

Should have been attacking the Islamic State militants sooner, shouldn't have pulled out of Iraq where they have slaughtered millions of Christians. That is two things. Stronger border security instead of leaving it wide open to terrorist. There is lots of things I would have him to do. Simple things that liberals don't understand, especially when they don't even believe the terrorist are waging a war against us. Obama thought everyone would love America since he was a softy.

What, exactly, would you have him do?

Also just today, a former Pentagon official told reporters that Obama was briefed on the rise of ISIS for over a year now. Still no strategy! Amazing!

Obama still doesn't get it. He still doesn't believe that terrorist have been waging a war against America. He still doesn't believe that Russia is a threat even after Putin has recently threatened to use nuclear weapons, sent submarines to the Gulf of Mexico and just off the Virginia coast. Terrorist are already in the U.S. Russian spies are already in the U.S. but Obama still doesn't have a strategy. Mitt Romney and even Hillary Clinton warned about this 7 years ago during campaigns. Obama laughed them both off. Mitt doesn't look so funny now!

Obama's Detached Leadership Is Leaving A Vacuum That Evil Will Fill

President Obama gave an amazing news conference Thursday. He'd hoped to highlight mildly encouraging news on the economy, which he says is Americans' top priority.

But Obama's current JV communications strategists should have known that was futile, given the winds of war blowing around the world. Syria, Iraq, Ukraine, ISIS, China all underscore the perceived weakness and inaction of the American leader who so badly wants his mere words to sway events.

Obama says Muslim extremists, whose barbarism brings new meaning to the word "extremists," don't belong in the 21st century. Turns out, it may be the detached, lame-duck American president who doesn't belong where he is.

As soon as the questions began, the commander-in-chief of the world's sole remaining superpower, albeit a stumbling one, lost control of the news conference, as he's lost control of his presidency and its narrative with 875 days left.

Obama spent most of the 30 minutes saying what he is not going to do. Remember his tough talk when Russia seized Crimea last spring?

Well, forget it. Now that Vladimir Putin is also taking over eastern Ukraine, Obama's not going to seek a military solution to the stealth invasion. Never mind the 1994 Budapest memos guaranteeing Ukraine's territorial integrity once it surrendered its nukes.

Obama's not going to have too many U.S. boots on the ground in Iraq. He's only taking "limited" action against "targeted" sites. He's not going to attack within Syria now. That would put "the cart before the horse."

He'll probably place more sanctions on Russia, although Obama is the only one who thinks they'll work. "We are not taking military action to solve the Ukrainian problem," Obama asserted. "What we're doing is to mobilize the international community to apply pressure on Russia."

All of this verbiage to cover the president's inaction to fill the regional power vacuums he's spawned and enhanced. And we haven't even abandoned Afghanistan yet.

Islamist militants partied like it was spring break in Cancun after invading US Embassy property in Libya on Sunday.

In a raucous video posted online, the terrorist hooligans wildly cheered each other on as they took turns swan-diving off the balcony of an embassy structure into a pool below. Most of them capped off their dives with a watery face plant.

The shenanigans unfolded as the umbrella Islamist terror group known as Dawn of Libya maintained a stranglehold over the empty US property, which they seized control of last week, the Associated Press reported.

Well, latest news is the terrorists have taken over the US embassy in Libya!

Where's Lurch Kerry? Must be an Obama red line crossed there somewhere?

Meanwhile, the terrorists are quaking in their sandals!

They're posting videos of their pool party, on embassy grounds! I sh*t you not!!!

April 2001 Massoud speech[edit]

Another warning came from Ahmad Shah Massoud, leader of the anti-Taliban Northern Alliance, in April 2001, in a speech before the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium where he asked for humanitarian aid to the people of Afghanistan. Massoud told the parliament that his intelligence agents had gained limited knowledge about a large-scale terrorist attack on U.S. soil being imminent. Massoud was assassinated by al-Qaeda two days before the 9/11 attacks on September 9, 2001.[3]

Bush era reports[edit]

May 1, 2001[edit]

On May 1, 2001, the CIA informed the White House that "a group presently in the United States" was in the process of planning a terrorist attack.[4]

June 29, 2001[edit]

The President's Daily Brief on June 29, 2001 stated that "[the United States] is not the target of a disinformation campaign by Usama Bin Laden". The document repeated evidence surrounding the threat, "including an interview that month with a Middle Eastern journalist in which Bin Laden aides warned of a coming attack, as well as competitive pressures that the terrorist leader was feeling, given the number of Islamists being recruited for the separatist Russian region of Chechnya."[4]

The CIA reiterated that the attacks were anticipated to be near-term and have "dramatic consequences".[4]

July 10, 2001[edit]

In July 2001, J. Cofer Black, CIA's couterterrorism chief and George Tenet, CIA's director, met with Condoleezza Rice, the National Security Advisor, to inform her about communications intercepts and other top-secret intelligence showing the increasing likelihood that al-Qaeda would soon attack the United States. Rice listened but was unconvinced, having other priorities on which to focus. Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld questioned the information suggesting it was a deception meant to gauge the U.S. response.[5][6]

August 6, 2001[edit]

On August 6, 2001, the President's Daily Briefing, entitled Bin Ladin Determined To Strike in US warned that bin Laden was planning to exploit his operatives' access to the U.S. to mount a terrorist strike: FBI information... indicates patterns of suspicious activity in this country, consistent with preparations for hijackings or other types of attack.[6] Rice responded to the claims about the briefing in a statement before the 9/11 Commission stating the brief was "not prompted by any specific threat information" and "did not raise the possibility that terrorists might use airplanes as missiles."[7]
