Let's not forget the infrared cameras being used now so "hunters" know exactly when the deer will be around.

Actually, I do not have a problem with hunting if people are actually hunting. Baiting for weeks, spreading urine, sitting in a stand with toe warmers and coffee, isn't hunting - that's called entrapment. There is zero skill involved.

If someone goes out and actually tracks their food source, then OK. And yes, I would prefer they use a bow and arrow, now that is skill.

hangs,

Apparently you do not know very much about firearms if you would choose a small handgun for self protection, small handguns are only used for self protection because of they can be concealed when going out in public and provide a better option than a sharp stick.

Hangs are you opposed to guns used for hunting? Because I'm not trying to put words in your mouth, it just kinda reads that way.

I'm saying if, as many on here proclaim, they want the right to protect themselves from intruders then why do you need anything else.

hangs,

are you saying that ALL firearms with the exception of small handguns should be banned from ownership?

You want to protect yourself then fine, a small pistol should do the job.

hangs,

explain what guns do you think should be prohibited from citizen ownership?

I've NEVER said any such thing. I have said I don't believe the 2nd amendment gives individuals the right to own certain types of guns, absolutely.

I love it when the gun rights people just assume because you oppose certain aspects of gun ownership, it means we want them all.

ladym and hangs,

Are you saying that I, as a law abiding citizen of the USofA should not be allowed to exercise my second amendment right to own as many legal firearms as I may desire to, just because someone else might choose to violate the law, burglarize my home and steal my personal property (guns)?

And what's your point? Hammer manufacturers are not marketing nor manufacturing for the purpose of killing. Just because some idiot uses one to hurt or kill to steal a GUN, it doesn't change the fact that was never the intent of the hammer. You are still missing the point and to be honest it is to tedious to try and converse with you because you seriously lack the ability.

Hey hangs, check out this report. Wait for the imbedded video to play. Notice the miscreants with their hammers at the ready to steal guns.

Intelligent people know guns are dangerous , hard to run from a bullet.

Those guns locked away in the glass gun case in their living room next to the mounted deer head.

When crooks break into homes they're very happy to find a stash of guns !! That puts more guns on the streets.

„ In 2007-11, less than 1% of victims in all nonfatal violent crimes reported using a firearm to defend themselves during the incident.

That's actually not a defense for gun control. That's actually a very valid point. If more people would carry with the ability to defend themselves then you might see a change in the violence all together.

You all can argue guns all day. Most of the homicides are in poor, uneducated, minority areas of the country. The root cause is not guns. You mix poverty and guns....then you have a problem.

I am for some type of regulations, but until we attack the real problem of poverty in many of these areas, the violence will continue... no matter what gun regulations you come up with.

They are not marketed as weapons because their intention is not to be used as a weapon. This must be a hard concept for some.

A pistol is not meant to be used as a hammer, some people may use it as such but it was never manufactured or marketed as such.
