And how do you think a national carry law would cause a shooting? Your theory is fear based. You have zero logic.

I get the idea of forcing all states to be pro 2nd amendment and pro NRA supported gun laws and I like the idea but I do not support taking away states rights which has always been a corner stone of the Republican party. They want states rights on abortion but not for gun rights. Repbs and Dems can't have it both ways on state rights verse Federal rights.
That is the problem with making laws like this. It will get the desired result on one issue and open the door for another issue they are firmly against. To many voters do not grasp this concept when supporting such laws.
I hate to say it but there needs to be a civics test you must pass before you have the right to vote. Nothing is more dangerous than an uneducated voter.

If you are talking about the shooter in the Florida airport, he was an American soldier from New Jersey with a CCW licensee. Everything about him was legal right until he started shooting.

Umpire,
That an evil person brought a gun into a "no guns allowed zone", and not a single honest law abiding citizen with a legally concealed carry weapon was there to try and stop him before he murdered innocent people.

antithesis (view profile) | Posted 10:23 pm, 01/05/2017 | I believe that everyone should be required to get certified (passing safety and mental competency tests) before owning a gun, but once they do then it should be accepted nationwide. Lets apply the part in red to your other rights and see if you agree then.
Which other Constitutional rights begin with the requirement of it being "well regulated"?
I really don't understand the opposition to people passing basic safety and competency tests before owning a firearm. We do the same thing for vehicles, and while those are Constitutionally protected, there's not a lot of difference (and since vehicles didn't exist in 1776, they couldn't have been included, anyway).
Would you really be OK with someone that couldn't pass these basic tests owning a gun? If we already require the classes for CHP, what's the difference? If they can't pass a class to carry in public then why should they be able to be a danger to themselves or their family? Worse, if they lack the competency for a CHP then what makes you think they wouldn't carry concealed, anyway?
I would also think that most gun shop owners would love the idea, too, since they would get to make more money on teaching the required safety classes
|
The well regulated part is refering to the militia remember the last part says the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

Your life doesn't depend on livestock either ,So don't be so quick to judge people when you have know ideal about what it takes to work HARD to keep what you have from being killed...now you want to talk about suffering ...watch an animal suffer after being attack by a varmint and then get back to me on the suffering image thing that's in your head .

How long is to long for an animal to suffer? That will depend on what YOU classify as suffering ...Some people have to trap to save their livestock and keep the varmints down or they will take over .

redfly (view profile) | Posted 2:27 pm, 01/06/2017 | Trapping is very very Cruel, the animal will suffer for hours and sometimes days before dying, of course Dems love that thought |
Red you have never trapped a day in your life,so how can you say its cruel ? Most law abiding trappers work hard at trapping and put lots of money, time and hard work into it ...they check their traps daily, most check their traps before you even think about getting out of bed and there is no long periods of time for the animal to suffer . You think you know everything about any situation and you don't know S*** .

I am about as liberal as anyone is going to get and I am not in favor of gun control. Still, the right tries to paint liberals as gun control nuts.
