I know it's a beach area, but it's fed by tributaries and with the comes the chance of gators. It's horrible, tragic and I really hate anyone would ever have to go thru this it's just awful to think about.

Personally, I believe it was a tragic accident and I don't blame the parents. This could happen to anyone when playing in swampy land, near dark, in FL.

Caj - I agree. People were screaming about how bad of a mother the lady with the toddler is/was but this is Disney's fault. I don't get it.

I'm surprised more people aren't blaming the parents.

They eat pets by the hundreds every year. Should be exterminated. I read an article on this about a year ago. I wish I had the link.

There is a shortage of shoes and pocketbooks and an excess of gators.
I think I have a solution.

A family from Nebraska...doesn't really think about gators at Disney World.

There are "No Swimming" signs at the lagoon, and no one else was in the water at the time of the attack besides the child, Demings said.
- There were signs, we just think nothing like this would ever happen.
It was a tragedy. But as with the zoo incident, this doesn't make them bad parents. They are parents that made a mistake that they'll have to live with for the rest of their lives.

They are tourists and I'm sure we're not expecting their child to get eaten at "the happiest place on earth". Disney should have had warning signs posted of the possibility that gators would be present. My heart breaks for that family, I can only imagine the horror of what they are experiencing. The father tried to wrestle the little boy away from the gator but could not.

The prehistoric beasts were practically extinct in Florida 50 years ago until the bedwetters took up their cause.

It's a lake in FL.
It's like coming to SC in July and complaining that it's hot.

Report said they've euthanized at least 4 gators already for examination. Peta will be down there soon.

Put up nets or build a wall to keep the gators out.
