Is the Confederate Battle Flag Innately Racist?

Believe me, Elmo...typing "good for Wal-Mart" was strange to do. But, hey, credit where credit is due.

Heartfelt kudos to Haley, Scott, Graham, etc. for asking for the removal of this traitorous, racist rag. The Republican Party has a chance to take a great leap forward in the face of the terrible tragedy in Charleston, and I applaud their reversal. May the skies of South Carolina, and indeed the nation, be completely clear of this heinous ragg

BUT WHAT WILL IT TAKE TO......CLEANSE THE GREAT "REICH WING COLLECTIVE'S"..BLACK RACIST HATE FILLED HEARTS

I don't know about the thugs and gangstas. What I do know is that the flag belongs in a museum.

Why ADVERTISE a flag that stood for "states' rights" i.e. slavery? The south wanted no part of federal intrusion into the ownership of slaves.

If the flag comes down, will the thugs and gangstas pull their pants up?

Forgive my off-topicness, but what do the running shoes hanging over the powerline mean?

IDK for sure but a guy I work with said that suppose to indicate where drugs are sold.

Back to the original question.....
the battle flag is just that and has its place in history.
As many before me on this thread have stated, secular groups have turned its meaning to fit their agenda.
But to remove it from say a museum exhibit no
to remove it from a flag pole of a government building/ Texas liscene plate yes.

A fact that is widely known by druggies, and widely ignored by the police...

Many drug dealers use a Confederate flag as an announcement, meaning "you can buy drugs here." They take it down when they're sold out or have gotten word that the police are watching.

Mommo. ..the thing is, so many hate groups and individuals have co-opt ed that flag as a representation of their hate and bigotry.

As South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley (R) argued Monday that the Confederate flag should be removed from the state Capitol grounds, she was flanked by lawmakers and officials in a show of broad support. Perhaps none was more politically significant than Reince Priebus, national chairman of the Republican Party.

It's true.
I support anyone's right to fly a bigoted flag.

But no state, federal, or local United States governmental agency should.

Bingo. Your free speech isn't being impeded. Unlike Germany, who outlaws public displays of the nazi swastika, you can still fly the NoVA or Tenn. Battle Flag all you want.

But any government should not be FLYING he flag of the traitorous C.S.A.

It belongs in museums and text books

Now not only has multiple GOP Senators and Governors come out to take the flag down but the Republican National chairman has stated as such too.

To quote Indiana Jones: "It belongs in a museum"

The 1% of the south that owned slaves talked the others into to fighting their war. Sound familiar?

Yep.
