Moose Head used too be a good beer. Don't even know if you can find it any where now. I think it was a German brand. After 3-4 bottles it would knock your panties slap off. Last i seen was at Cullers Market years ago. Pretty pricey back then also.

I got a sample and sent it to a lab for testing. They advised waiting 3 more days before putting the mule in the field again.

I know they have it on draught at 6th and main and at the public house 222 in elkin.....probably a lot more places but I don't get out much and when I do there are just a handful of places I go.....I'm a creature of habit.....and more places probably have it in bottles but if I'm getting a craft beer, draught is the way to go

Sounds interesting! Like a light version of a dark beer. I'll have to try that one day.

OK I looked it up....an ESB is an English style pale ale though the green man is darker than most pale ales I can think of

It stands for extra special bitter.....bitter is a style of beer....which has a terrible name cuz it's not bitter at all....at least the green man isn't.....
The way I describe it is somewhere between a dark lager/brown ale with an espresso hint to it. It's very smooth with a great nose, great finish, goes great with food.

And I pretty much hate the IPA style in general......they all have a fantastic nose but it never translates to the taste and all IPAs are just bitter and nasty to me.....
With one exception..... Citradelic IPA from New Belgium....it actually tastes the way it smells and is not overly bitter....it's the only IPA I've ever liked

And the silver oak aficionado mentioned is great as long as it's Napa valley and not Alexander but it's more than I care to spend on wine.

I like the cheap Buzz. Busch Ice 5.9% and a Dark Import combined 50 - 50. The Import puts a good flavor into the VERY inexpensive Busch Ice. Don't forget the Frosted mug, you'll think it was drawn from a fresh keg!

Visit Howard's brewery in Lenoir - I've been on a recent trip back your way. You can see the brewery while you drink an action man.

Now, a chocolate beer is a different story and I do love dark beer.
Other than the one you mentioned from Boondock's, what other dark beers do you suggest trying? I'd like to branch out a little more, but there are a lot to try

Darlin, women get a pass on all things chocolate.
As for a steak, put it with a silver oak and no worries.

aFicIoNadoS (view profile) | Posted 11:24 pm, 05/26/2016 | Actually, now a days, most consider white wine (like a Grigio) to be beginners level. It's for sorority girls and the boys picked last in gymn class. |
With wine, I still go by the classic rules; Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, or Riesling with chicken or fish, and Malbec or Cabernet with steak. I find the flavors are more complementary that way.

I don't care for any fruit-infused beer and definitely no fruit-enhanced shine.
Now, a chocolate beer is a different story and I do love dark beer.
Wine and a salad, yes. But, I don't confuse myself with beer or wine and steak anymore. That just too many flavor org*sms going on at once.
