THE CONVENTION WAS CALLED JUST AS I SAID, TO REVISE THE ARTICLES OF CONFEDERATION.
PLEASE EXAMINE THE RESOLUTION PASSED BY THE CONGRESS OF THE CONFEDERATION DATED FEBRUARY 21, 1787. REFERRED TO AS ARTICLE 7, DOCUMENT 1.
NOW IDIOT ***, THAT SHOULD KEEP YOU BUSY FOR A LITTLE WHILE.

Okay, Kim-Jung-Idiot, I'll humor you this time.
In this thread, on multiple occasions, you have harped that the Convention of 1787 was to amend the Articles of Confederation which, ostensibly, it was. However, the majority of the attendees had no intention of amending the Articles of Confederation and had said so. You intentionally ignore the intent of the people attending the convention. That is half the truth.
You have also consistently implied that the Convention of the States being discussed now is some nefarious scheme, when in fact, it is explicitly provided for within the text of the Constitution. That is a misrepresentation.
I'll be sure to point out the next ones when they happen because all you do is lie, misrepresent and yell, so it won't be long.

Four things. For sparks, skeptic, and umpire, not for Scoop McThesaurus.
1. Serious question: Why have representatives serve four years instead of two?
2. When it is said Rep. Foxx is soulful, are you stating she eats souls? I concur, if that's the case.
3. If a representative could re-up, could a president? I think skeptic has already addressed this.
4. The phrase "numbnuts" is always funny.

Sparklin' has put forth the proposition that Representatives should be elected for four year terms and limited to two consecutive terms, thus introducing the concept of rotation at the federal level. What this would do is instill a sense of citizen legislators instead of professional politicians. We relied on the tradition established by George Washington to limit the term of president to two consecutive 4 year terms until the abuse by FDR and the need for the 22nd amendment to establish this as law.
Note from GoNC: a portion of this post was removed for trolling.

On term limits. I would suggest that no federal position last more than 8 years.

I DON'T SEE A NEED FOR A CONVENATION. NOW, I ALMOST FORGOT.
I CHUCKLED AT YOUR POSTING TIMESTAMPED AT 7:30 PM THIS EVENING.
THE USE OF THE TERM. "AMERICAN EXCEPTIONIALISM." I WAS AMUSED THAT YOU QUOTED JOSEPH STALIN.

We're both way to cynical to expect altruism from either party with respect to voluntarily stepping aside.
I am in hopes that the Convention can multitask. I know it's against the "rules" but it's what I want. I am allowing myself to enjoy a few moments of selfishness.
Say, umpire, do you have any ideas if your own or are you so limited that you can only ***** about the ideas of others?

WHY DOESN'T SHE VOLUNTARILY STEP ASIDE? ARE THEY NOT ANY OTHER QUALIFIED REPUBLICAN IN THEFIFTH DISTRICT?
HOW IS A TERM LIMIT AMENDMENT GOING TO DEBATED IN A CONVENTION THAT IS CONVENED TO DISCUSS A BALANCED BUDGET?

Same reasons most incumbents are reelected. the Fifth district won't elect an idiot democrat. Virginia has the name recognition and the support of the party apparatus. My most excellent Term Limit Amendment (soon to be introduced for consideration at the Convention of States) would allow a lesser known less connected person an opportunity to serve. Virginia would be free to re-up after a term has passed.

Well, we like Virginia. She's so....soulful, ya know.
we all know that the success rate for incumbents is super high. We also know that Congress as an institution enjoys abysmal approval ratings. Term limits fixes one of those numbers.
