Fortunately, there are states that value ALL of their citizens rights and don't exploit the fear of the uneducated.

And, none of 'em are red states.

I moved several posts that were off topic to the thread "North Carolina reins in local governments, transgender rule". I should probably move a lot more, since most of these posts are about the HB2 in general instead of entertainers that are boycotting the state.

Just saying::: IF all states adopted some form of a bill like this, BRUCEY would be forced to perform overseas if he keeps a mind set of a toilet or urinal issue. Is he out of the closet yet? Maybe he's on the way out, bringing & leaving something behind? Who cares, i personally don't give a Rats A**

Who did Springsteen discriminate against? He did not deny tickets to anyone, he canceled the show.

If a baker can deny a gay couple, why can't they deny a black couple, or Asian couple?

If a baker provides a cake for an atheist couple and denies one to a gay couple....they are nothing but hypocrites.

IMO:: If this restroom bill holds up to all the positives and negatives this is the deal.To satisfy all individuals and not to show any discrimination towards any sex or sexual preference whether it be LGBT, straight or the whatever's. Places of business should go to one restroom only, having one urinal, one potty and sink. The sink would be used for people who actually wash their hands after using facility.Only one person at a time unless with small children. Lock door upon entering. This in cases might cause long lines but if you have to go bad enough, run outside behind some bushes & get'er done. Forgot, sterile alcohol wipes should be provided.

So, what's the difference in the bakers that didn't want to cater a gay marriage ceremony and Springsteen deciding not to come to NC?

note- I firmly believe that Springsteen has every right to decide on his own whether or not to do a concert...just like the bakers have every right on their own to decide whether or not to cater any wedding.

Its a special accommodation.

I didn't realize that only Christians got to take Easter and Christmas..

Actually you are wrong, the law did not protect her, she went to jail. They made "special" accommodations for her.

Ah, but the law DOES protect someone from going against their religious beliefs. I know that you guys don't like that....but you LOVE that Springsteen didn't perform as he was contracted to. Go Springsteen!!

Actually there are all kinds of special privileges made for religion. A place for prayer, employers make special treatment for those needing a day off for religion. Holidays off for Christmas and Easter.

I was thinking of the special accomidations Kim Davis received while refusing to perform her work duties and still keeping her job.

I also need to add that discrimination really only covers race, religion, color, national origin, or sex, truthseeker.

Truth, I have never heard of a Christian requiring special bathroom privileges just because they are Christian. Now, maybe I'm missing something???

Actually, I think states should be allowed to make laws versus individual cities. That is what this was about, right?

Not to mention that if a business still wants to make special arrangements to accommodate their Christian employees then they can. They just don't have to. It would seem to a lot of us that Christians aren't wanting EQUAL rights. They are wanting SPECIAL treatment. Being Christian isn't recognized as a disability. They should be able to function just as you or I would so they should have to follow the same rules.

Sure. But first, should states and states alone be responsible for making laws, or just when it applies to transgender and LGBT individuals?
