Disappointed that they allow that in our great state or at least what used to be great.

I believe what it boils down to is, the "majority" does not truly understand the Constitution.

those of you who are casting a DARK cloud on McCrory not to fight what the Courts have stated that this Bill One was unconstitutional....remember its the US SUPREME COURT who refuse to hear those who wanted lower courts ruling over turned...remember this its a Conservative Court...and Chief Justice has voted with most of those laws that were over turned...Voting for one...but it takes four Justices to agree to hear the complains....three of those who did not vote for it were conservatives.....

They should pass a law that anybody who wants to get married can. But a marriage license cost 10,000 dollars at the court house. Divorces can be done at the same place for one dollar.

We should all be ashamed of Mccrory. At least we know he will only be a one-term crook.

I am proud of McCrory for being able to recognize a waste of taxpayer money. This will ultimately be a decision for the Supreme Court to decide (or decide by not deciding). Do you think McCrory should have did a George Wallace on the courthouse steps? The actions Wallace took at the University of Alabama for segregation didn't do much good for anyone. To top it off, read what Wallace himself had to say about his reasons for his segregationist rants. "When a supporter asked why he started using racist messages, Wallace replied, "You know, I tried to talk about good roads and good schools and all these things that have been part of my career, and nobody listened. And then I began talking about [racial epithet], and they stomped the floor."[17]

I'm proud of him. He finally realized that Roy Cooper was right and Berger/Tillis et al were wrong. The supreme court's refusal to hear the appeal of the district judges decision showed that there is NO WAY that the NC amendment would stand. There was absolutely no reason to continue to pay the high priced republican supporter lawyers hundreds of thousands of tax dollars to bypass the attorney general's sensible decision to not pursue a lost cause.

I've always said, it's political tooling to keep the votes coming in. Most politicians of all favors KNOW there's nothing that can be done. Unless they want to amend the Constitution. And we all know how conservatives feel about leaving the Constitution in tact. As Gramps would say...whoops!

The reason "liberal judges" are getting blamed is because we are less than a month away from an election. And what issue stirs up the conservative base more than letting two dudes marry. "we need to vote in some more conservative judges (even though judges here are not elected)". So while moderates and liberals are now sitting satisfied with the ruling, the conservatives have gotten their fire to motivate them to get to the poles (electoral poles, not man meat poles)
As you say, JMO

| Maybe I am wrong, and if I am, I apologize. Were not the majority of the judges on the Supreme Court nominated by conservative Republicans?
| That's what I was thinking too. And such was the case when Roe v. Wade was decided regarding abortion. Yet somehow, it's the "liberal" judges fault. The one thing I do give those conservative judges credit for is, upholding the Constitution.

Have you ever read the NC state constitution? The governor is sworn to uphold it. And the NC constitution states
Sec. 3. Internal government of the State. The people of this State have the inherent, sole, and exclusive right of regulating the internal government and police thereof, and of altering or abolishing their Constitution and form of government whenever it may be necessary to their safety and happiness; but every such right shall be exercised in pursuance of law and consistently with the Constitution of the United States.

tdriver623 (view profile) | Posted 2:34 pm, 10/17/2014 | I am extremely disappointed in McCrory. He is not standing up for our state, and I am democrat, and he is a coward. |
It was a losing battle and he didn't want to waste anymore tax money fighting a losing battle. He made the right decision. Will you vote for him again? or will you vote for a democrat?

Cassidy people decide to have sex or not. I am normal but I don't have sex with every woman I want to have sex with. I chose not to have sex all the time. Gay people can't decide to or not to have sex? We should let rapist off because they are born to want to have sex.
A normal person would never make such a statement. I don't think you are normal.

Nobody's blaming repubs for gay marriage bats, we know you don't believe in liberty and justice for all. When gay marriage starts interfering with your rights let us know.
