i have a bit of nerd in me and like to study the future and what it will look like. several years ago i started looking at 3D printing. i touch base with it now and again just to keep myself informed. in an attempt to help focus a couple of young people and their future, i talked with them about it. they have now brought even more knowledge to me about it.
do you know it is now possible to print food?
do you know that nascar and other performance auto entities are 3D priinting replacement parts?
veterans are now precisely fitted with prosthetics for different needs (walking, hiking, running, etc)?
functioning firearms are now being 3D printed
dentures are also being 3D printed.
there is a 3D printer on the International Space Station
3D printers are capable of printing food, paper, metal, vinyl, and a plethora of other materials
3D printing is one step away from being called replicators.
for all of the gibberish about minimum wage, job security, etc ... people would be wise to actually look into the future because big business is already planning your demise. what was once hand tooled, human interaction required, or even mass produced is on the way out.
why manufacture tons of replacement fenders or bumpers, when all that is needed is to print one out only when needed? why build and maintain storage?
3D printing is only one part of the future, but it is going to change everything and how we buy, replace, and store items in our lives.
and that future is here, now, and working
and to add one last thought ... 3D printers are already available for home use and are affordable
