It sounds as if you have ad ware or spyware on your PC

AdwCleaner is a free removal tool for :

Adware (ads softwares )PUP/LPI (Potentially Undesirable Program)Toolbars Hijacker (Hijack of the browser's homepage

Download to PC and run it.
If a ton of stuff shows up consider reinstalling the OS

It sounds like you have a spyware infection. Pop up ads are almost always an indication of spyware, and this will definitely slow your computer down.

First, go to Start > Control Panel > Uninstall programs, and uninstall anything that you know you don't need. Also, uninstall any antivirus program that is listed (I'll list a new one below).

Then, download these two free programs:

AVG Antivirus:

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware:
http://www.softpedia.com/ge...ware.shtml

Be sure to download the free versions. These are both excellent programs that I've used for years, and in my opinion are better than any of the paid programs.

You might also want to go to Download.com and download CCleaner. It's not critical like the other two, but I use it regularly to clean my registry and to eliminate unnecessary temporary files.

If this is already on this site, I apologize. I bought a new laptop a couple of months ago. The ads that pop up are so annoying and it seems it takes me FOREVER to maneuver from one site to the next. I am thinking it is the ads that are slowing me down so much. Can anybody give me some idea as to how to eliminate or better yet, get rid of these unwanted ads that keep popping up? Thanks for any help.
