I've tested a few times over several weeks, and Google was never the fastest for me. It varies from network to network, though, so it might be faster for you.

Public google DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. BUT GOOGLE keeps the records forever!

I use this for my PS4 to get faster connection on it. Works like a champ. OpenDNS all the way.

I think it's wise for anyone to check their DNS settings, to find which DNS option is fastest for them. The one from your internet provider isn't always the fastest.
I stumbled upon this free program that will test most of the free DNS servers against your own, to let you know exactly which one is your best option:
For me, OpenDNS was the fastest, but this may vary based on your location.
