Coach.... sorry I meant just to say, Brian Hampton!!

Speaking of Wilkes county. What has happened there? All 4 schools are doing well for the 2nd year in a row and 3 of the schools are 2-0. WC played a really good 3a school last night and was competitive and whoever said that freshman RB they got it's going to be special was right on the money.

peanutcrowd....you're an idiot if you think Hampton has ever won "MVAC Titles"! He chokes in the big game...His ONLY co-championship came after his team got rolled by 1A Starmount in 2014!! hahahahahah Championships you've lost your mind. Either that or you are Coach Hampton trying to get on here to save your job by feeding the public the same BS I hear you feed your kids! Good luck playing the Wilkes Co. Schools and going 0-4 again this year.

TryinToFindTheOne may be right....they may only win 2 games this year. If you are lucky enough to slip up and beat Alleghany!

Nobody wants to coach in Ashe County. Just be happy with what you have. I heard from a reliable person that not a single varsity coach with experience applied for the girls basketball job when Laura Foster left.

Not 1.

Ashe has lacked great athletes for the last several years. If you can't see that by now, then I don't know what to tell you. Wrestling team can't even field a full team, football team has no size, basketball team has one tall player who looked lost for most of the year last year from what little I saw.

You'd think through sheer numbers Ashe should dominate the MVAC.

Ashe - 953 Students
WCHS - 865 Students
NWHS - 736 Students
WWHC - 689 Students
Starmount- 631 Students
EWHS - 548 Students
Alleghany - 454 Students
Elkin - 393 Students

Ashe "money" sports have dropped tremendously. Football has had one good yr in the past 6-8 yrs. Mens basketball hasnt been good since Payne left (6-7 yrs) ago. They may win in the non-revenue sports, but in the big sports...they no longer have quality coaches to win yr end and yr out.

U need to check your stats, Ashe only was a Co-Co-Champions only 1 time in 2014. Hampton not winning MVAC titles as head coach.

2012- (3-5)4-8 (6th)
2013- (5-1)6-5 (2nd)
2014- (6-1)11-3 (3 way tie for 1st)
2015- (5-2)6-6 (3 way tied for 2nd)
2016- (3-4)4-7 3rd

Shut up! I'm tired of hearing you complain because your son sucks. All hampton has done since he has been the Head Coach is win MVAC titles and help shape young men. Grow up! This is the problem with our society, esp in Ashe. Kids grow up thinking I won a middle school championship I should be a 5 star recruit..... get out of here!

Ashe's beat down Friday night at Avery High School is just a sign of whats to come this year with this program. Honestly speaking, beating Avery was the ONLY chance this team had of winning a game in the non-conference portion of the schedule. Looks like an 0-4 start to the season for sure. Giving up 56 to Avery will probably transition into giving 70 against Watauga this Friday night at home, 70 again against Hibriten (Most in the first half, the rest will be scored by their JV team in the second half) and 50-60 against West Caldwell. Confidence should be at an all time high going into conference play!!

Judging by Friday nights scheme, our winning or losing from this point forward depends on our WR,RB,SLOT,Punter,Kicker #13. Evidently he is the only kid on the team with any kind of athletic ability!! That won't be to hard for other teams to key on and stop!!

According to Max-Preps Coach (meaning that loosely) Hampton took over the program from Coach Strong in 2012. Since then his overall record is 31-30(after Friday night's beat down). His Overall records each year is as follows: 2012 4-8, 2013 6-5, 2014 11-3, 2015 6-6, 2016 4-7. The 2017 season MAY......I'll repeat MAY see 2 wins (over Alleghany and Elkin) and push his record 2-9 on the season and 33-38 over his knowledgeable oversight of the program. HAHAHHAAH

We should've hired a football coach in 2012 instead of hiring another member to the good ole' boys club of Ashe!! #onlyinashecounty
