I used to make these all day long when I worked at run-in on 268 . If you go to run-in and ask for a pound of their chicken breader if they still sell it , use to be like 2.16 a lbs Cut your taters soak for at least 30 min.in cold water drain than toss in the breader and deep fry till golden brown perfect every time. I always get them at the Shell Station on 421 beside McDonald's. I love them. They deep fry theres though and that's the difference. All of the recipes I have found online are for baked ones, which I am sure is way better for you but that's the reason they taste different than the ones you get at the run ins.

You can find this recipe in just about all of the local cookbooks. They are called Holly Taters from Holly Farms before it became Tyson.

Basically it's a flour, parmesan cheese and fried chicken seasoning mixture. Cut potato in wedges, coat in mixture and then pour melted butter over them and bake.

I have tried several times and can't get anywhere near the good ones that you get at a service station.

The station down 268 East near Airport Road has delicious ones. So does the Country Market at the intersection of Mtn.View Rd. and 18 North.

Are you talking about the gas station on 421 next to the lake? I wish I had not read this post this late because I'm craving their tater wedges now!!! I have not found anyone else that makes them any better.

Does anyone know how they fix their taters? I love them but here lately everytime I stop they are sold out. Thanks.
