I always put a pinch of sugar in my slaw too glitter, learned it from a great cook.

I learned it from a great cook, too, the best.

Didn't that woman work at McDonald's?

Kenc, I don't think that they had ratings then. I worked the counter at a cafe part time, and don't remember one!! I think you are right about Moving starting nasty rumors about the vermin. I ate a lot of them footlongs and never found one roach in the slaw!!! The chili was a little crunchy at times!!!

You could ask Hester. She lives in Wilkes, and still makes slaw.

I didn't want to mention roaches, their slaw and chili was delicious. Wonder if one of their competitors started a nasty rumor. There's an urban legend born somewhere every minute.

The key to good slaw is a couple of pinches of sugar...

They never charged extra for the flies and roaches lol. I loved their foot long dogs.

The key to good slaw is to chop the cabbage up fine, then use Duke's mayo, salt/pepper, and a little mustard (or no mustard if'ns that's the way you like it).

Chopping the cabbage up fine releases the natural juices of the cabbage and keeps the slaw moist.

Fins has made a "rare" mistake. Hester's made their own slaw.

Kenc...not just flies...also roaches.

You all are making me queezy thinking of all the hot dogs I ate there, I didn't look inside to see their rating or how nasty they might be. Wonder how many flies, or worse, I ate.

The nastiest place I ever ate at that had great food. I would just stay in the car and let the girl come out to take my order so I didn't have to see how dirty the place was(out of sight out of mind) I would give $10 for one of those footlongs.

Heaters. It's been a long time since I heard that name. I used to go there at lunch. They had the best hotdogs.

I believe they used some cabbage, mustard and a fly or two for flavoring.

Heck, is there anyone still around who worked there? Long time ago.
